Operations Specialist (Dreyfus)– Job Number 1000537


The qualified candidate will be responsible for providing support to the branch network and monitoring all branch staff activity concerning operational & client related issues. You will need to provide sales support to the Advisors for Mutual Funds, Brokerage/ Managed Assets and Annuity business in order to increase revenue for the firm. These activities include contacting proprietary and non-proprietary resources to obtain information regarding establishing & servicing accounts, reviewing documents for accuracy as well as utilizing a variety of systems to initiate changes to client accounts. You will also review and process paperwork/ trades for Dreyfus funds, non proprietary & all Annuity products. You will resolve client issues by initiating research through the use of the Customer Service System (CSS), Lion research request or by contacting an outside vendor.

Must have a complete understanding of a retail financial operation that interacts with brokerage back office, a transfer agent and/or insurance providers.
2-3 years of experience in a branch network or sales/service environment.
FINRA Series 6 and 63 are required and a Series 7 needs to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Must possess excellent customer service phone skills.
Superior processing/servicing knowledge. Strong working knowledge of on-line systems.
Flexible team player and have the ability to prioritize & handle multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Lotus.
A BA/BS degree is preferred.
This position is located in Uniondale, Long Island, New York (across from Hofstra University).
