Job Description

Provide operational support of multiple/remote/prop trading environments; conduct performance
monitoring/analysis of those environments and develop of improved monitoring
methodologies/tools/systems reporting processes.
The firms technology is built on Sun/Intel hardware operating in a UNIX/Linux environment. Software is
internally developed with C/C++/Perl.
First shift, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to trading staff/communicate systems related issues to trading staff.
Demonstrate understanding of architecture of trading environment/manage startup of trading
environment.
Monitor trading environment/identify & report system failures/inefficiencies.
Demonstrate understanding of purpose of trading applications/how the trading staff accesses
applications/communications needs and expected behavior of applications.
Troubleshoot/resolve unexpected application/system behavior.
Recommend improvements to facilitate better management/monitoring of the environment.
First shift, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Experience:
BS in Computer Science or 2 to 3 years work experience as a UNIX systems administrator
Knowledge of UNIX operating system (Solaris and Linux preferred)/Perl and Shell programming skills.
C and C++ knowledge is plus.
Ability to manage multiple project phases simultaneously; identify solutions to problems/specify
projects/recommend project schedules and priorities/program solutions to problems; coordinate
phases to achieve results that satisfy users needs as effectively as possible.
Proven track record providing top-level user support; availability of systems/applications is critical to
the function of the business/user community and must be monitored consistently to ensure smooth
operation through training/guidance/ongoing support. Must have ability to solicit/utilize feedback
from users to enhance system administration.
