Job Description
Adherence to vendor management related regulations and the Bank Vendor Management Policies and Procedures: Ensure that vendors are managed in a way that satisfies Legal, Regulatory and Bank Compliance standards. Oversee Vendor Risk Management roles and responsibilities to ensure the Vendor Risk Management roles are performed consistently across the organization and the organization is meeting the Bank's regulatory requirements relating to Vendor Risk. Provide guidance and interpretation of vendor contracts and agreements. Understand vendor contracts to work with Contracts Management or Legal and articulate the business positions so they are properly reflected in vendor contracts. Ensure that complete vendor files are maintained as dictated by Bank Policy and Procedures to satisfy the expectations of internal and external auditors. Identify issues requiring further action (obsolete information, missing documentation, etc.) and make certain that the appropriate remedial action is taken in a timely manner. As regulations change, and/or Bank Vendor Management Policies and Procedures evolve, ensure that vendor files are brought into conformity with the new standard on a timely basis. Make certain that the required annual vendor reviews are conducted on time. Establish and maintain a positive and productive working relationship with Vendor Risk Administration. Be conversant with Bank Policies and Procedures relating to vendor management. Provide leadership and coordinate the efforts of Vendor Relationship Managers within the organization relating to all aspects of vendor management.
Qualifications
Mandatory minimum qualifications - 5- 10 years of broad-ranging work experience in commercial banking is required. An understanding of the array of products offered by a commercial bank and the partnerships with vendors that are required to deliver products and meet customer needs is especially valuable. The large number of vendors, the broad variety of documentation requirements, and the high volume of open items at any time requires that this manager have strong organizational skills. Demonstrated superior communication skills are required since this individual will communicate directly with many levels of Management including Executive Management. Must have the ability to read and interpret vendor contracts and work closely with Legal and Contracts Management on a peer relationship basis. Prior experience with vendor risk management regulations, vendor relations as well as customer interactions is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and communication (spoken and written) are required for this position. The duties of this job require interaction with other associates in a broad range of disciplines and several levels of Management, up to Executive Management. The Vendor Compliance Manager must have the understanding of his / her area and the confidence to encourage personnel at all levels to take the actions needed to ensure that the Bank's vendor management program performs at a highly satisfactory level.
